The hot dry summers of the Canterbury Plains in the South Island of New Zealand provide a perfect climate for the production of seed in strict isolation from other areas of asparagus production.
Aspara Pacific Ltd is New Zealand's only asparagus breeder - also playing a key role in the New Zealand seed potato industry as a main supplier of high health stock.
